Ashtanga Yoga Self-Practice will kick off during the third week of your teacher training. During this period, you’ll have the freedom to complete the series at your own rhythm and according to your own schedule. Your teachers will be available to evaluate your alignment and help you delve deeper into the postures if desired.
Asana Practice Yoga Class
We know the mind and body like variety. Because of this, in the YTTC at Kranti Yoga you can choose your morning asana practice according to your needs of the day and the moment. You can choose if you want the challenge of the traditional ashtanga class, the meditation of the hatha yoga class, or the dance of the vinyasa flow. So, there will always be a morning practice to meet you where you are – to balance the body, steady the mind, and free the soul!
Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa Flow Morning Practice will take place on alternate days. These classes will demonstrate dynamic sequencing that will inspire you to teach your own classes. Our experienced 200 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Teachers will guide you through each of the 2 hour sessions, taking you on a journey. Classes may work towards a peak posture, tell a story or set a particular technical intention. Classes will introduce you to new postures and techniques to achieve them. Each week, Vinyasa Flow Classes will cover Hip Opening, Back Bending and Strength.
Teaching Yoga Methodology
The teaching Methodology Module has been designed to ease you into teaching. Each week, we will provide tools for you to develop your teaching skills. You will build your own 60-minute Vinyasa Flow Class that you will teach during the final week. Teaching Methodology sessions include: Opening a Class, Sequencing for Vinyasa Flow, Concise Instructions, Relaxation Techniques, Corrections and Modifications. Participating in each other’s classes and providing constructive feedback for your peers is a great way to learn and share ideas. Practice time is crucial here and time is allocated for you to practice teaching in order that you feel confident in teaching your peers.
Technical Yoga Workshops
We have a series of workshops to deliver to help you achieve key postures. Workshops will include Headstand, Transitions, Arm Balances, Partner Yoga and Back Bending. Our Yoga Teacher will give you techniques to get you into some of these milestone postures. You will get lots of useful tips for you to incorporate into your classes.
Yoga Philosophy
Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC) offers an in-depth exploration of the rich and ancient tradition of yoga, rooted in 5,000 years of wisdom. You’ll study key elements like Prana (life energy), the Five Koshas (layers of consciousness), and the Five Bhutas (elements). Through Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Ashtanga Yoga system, you’ll learn the eight-fold path to self-realization. The course also includes Mantra Chanting, the Four Paths of Yoga (Karma, Bhakti, Jnana, and Raja Yoga), and the Bhagavad Gita—a spiritual guide for self-realization, offering a holistic foundation for your teaching journey.
Ashtanga Yoga and Adjustments Of Yoga
Students will develop a strong practice of Ashtanga Yoga while you study how to adjust each of these postures. Students will learn The Primary Series through a series of Ashtanga Yoga Led Classes and Self-Practices on alternate mornings. The daily Adjustments Workshop will provide the opportunity to learn and practice your alignment and adjustments on each other. Students will then adjust peers in selected morning practices. The adjustments of some popular Vinyasa Flow postures will also be explored.
Yoga Anatomy and Alignment
These classes offer detailed information about the human body, how it is built, and how it moves in relation to Yoga. Students learn about the bones, muscles, and breathing system, and they gain an understanding of how these parts work together. Alignment classes concentrate on placing the body correctly during Yoga poses to ensure safety and get the most out of the practice. Teachers also learn how to assess the unique characteristics of individuals and make adjustments to poses based on their body types, injuries, or limitations. This knowledge helps them create a secure and supportive environment, minimizing the risk of injuries and maximizing the advantages of practicing Yoga.
