Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa Flow allows the body to move fluidly with the breath, flowing continuity from posture to posture. On alternate days, you will be taken on a physical and spiritual journey to achieve a challenging peak posture. The classes will demonstrate our sequencing framework which will then be further explored in Teaching Methodology where you will sequence your own classes. These classes aim to be an example of contemporary yoga as taught in studios today. Classes will incorporate dynamic stretches, myofascial release techniques and functional movement to compliment traditional alignment that will be acquired through knowledge of the Primary Series.
Yin Yoga
The Yin Classes will be happening every other day and takes you on a journey of stillness and mindfulness, offering a contrast to the yang nature of daily life. The Class is about deep, blissful poses that target your inner tissues. Teachers learn to guide students in creating a sacred space for this meditative practice. We explore anatomy, energy flow, and the power of mindfulness. The Yin class offers therapeutic benefits like flexibility and stress reduction. It’s a transformative experience that spreads good vibes.
Yoga Teaching Methodology
Students will learn how to sequence and teach a lesson with integrity. The commentary that accompanies a successful class is crucial. Students will learn how to build a commentary based on the details learnt during the alignment class, developing the correct vocabulary and dialogue. This will include instructions to enter and exit the posture, benefits of the posture, anatomical information, the flow of energy in the subtle body, The Elements and intention setting.
Yoga Technical Workshops
These workshops are delivered in order to share our practice at Kranti Yoga. On the 300 YTTC, we have devised a series of workshop that will really allow you to advance your physical practice, achieving some of the more challenging postures of Vinyasa Flow. These workshops are 90 minutes long and will take place at the end of the day as your final daily practice. Workshops include: Shoulder Stability; Functional Movement; Inversions; Arm Balances; Myofascia Release; Backbending, Transitions.
Yoga Philosophy
In our YTTC, we delve into the profound and ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy, with roots tracing back over 5,000 years. You will explore essential concepts such as Prana (life force), the 5 Koshas (layers of the self), the 5 Bhutas (elements), Chakras, Nadis, Mudras, and Bandhas. Students will engage with the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, understanding the Ashtanga Yoga path toward self-awareness and liberation. We also study the 16 Samskaras (life rituals), Agni & Ama (digestive fire and toxins), and Mantra Chanting as a path to inner focus.
In addition, you will delve into Samkhya Philosophy, the Upanishads, and how these ancient texts shape modern yoga practices. We’ll also introduce Taoist philosophy and how it complements Yin Yoga, which emphasizes stillness, introspection, and the balance between Yin and Yang. Through long-held poses, this practice targets the deeper tissues of the body, allowing for energy flow, emotional release, and connection with the meridians and 5 Elements Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
This course offers a deep dive into the heart of both Eastern and Western philosophies, enabling you to build a rich, well-rounded yoga practice that integrates these diverse traditions.
The Fascial Body
These classes will focus on the fascial connections throughout the body, looking at the function of the fascia and dealing with the body in totality. This is the anatomy of the fascia. Students will compare traditional anatomy with contemporary thinking, considering how this applies to yoga. Studies will include mapping of the Superficial Front, Back and Side Lines; the Superficial Front and Back Arm Lines; the Spiral Lines. The module will provide an exploration of strength and flexibility for the fascial body. Students will understand the importance of bio-tensegrity and how to maintain the body’s natural tensile structure when preparing a Yin Yoga Class.
Yoga Anatomy Seminars
This module will include a review of the skeletal muscular system from the 200 hour YTTC curriculum. Students will review the origin, insertion, functionality, and physiology of muscles. This module will look in detail at the anatomy of the shoulder and the importance of building shoulder stability to support your Vinyasa Flow practice, as well as a detailed look at the spine and hips. The Anatomy Theory Classes will take place during the first week and then knowledge will be applied for the duration of the course.
